Is Peter Laviolette using Matt Rempe the right way or just waisting his potential?

You would think that when a team is in the midst of a third playoff round that it would stop conducting experiments.

But when it comes to Pistol Pete Laviolette you would be wrong.

The longest-running experiment essentially comes down to The Skating Steeple and what to do with Matt Rempe?

Or maybe a more realistic way of putting it would be how much ice time should the Large One get when he is in the lineup?

We all know that when The Remper plays, the Rangers usually win although not last night in Florida.

During the first period Lavvy gave him a whopping 1:55, then 3:11 in the second finishing with a total of 6:17 including overtime. That's higher than usual but not much when you consider that Kaapo Kakko, another Lavvy project finished with 13:59.

Rempe didn't break any bones, didn't take any dumb penalties and, as far as can be determined, played a worthwhile game when on the ice and didn't affect the score in any way.

You can be sure that 99 percent of tomorrow night's MSG crowd will want to see The People's Choice for at least five minute's worth. We know that Rempe's mere presence will goose up the crowd and his adoring audience supposedly will goose up the Rangers. How much? Who knows?

Now that he's back in the lineup Blake (Rusty) Wheeler – costly penalty last night or not – must be utilized for the same reason he was signed last year in first place, to bolster the right side.

Come to think of it, that's also what Kakko is there for but his results – in The Maven's calculations – come out to The Square Root of Coney Island.

In a philanthropic mood, Lavvy allotted KK 13:59 last night, and you already know what he accomplished; The Root Square of Chai Nothing.

As for "The Big Three?" They are doing imitations of Toronto's Marner, Matthews and Nylander; and you know which golf course they're on now.
