New York Rangers center Filip Chytil was injured in a collision at today's morning skate according to multiple sources.
The 24-year-old center returned to practice on Thursday, the first time he had taken the ice with his teammates since he sustained an upper-body injury on Nov. 2 in a game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Since then, Chytil has skated on his own, moved back home to Czechia to progress, and skated in a red non-contact jersey for the last two days. He was taking repetitions with Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko.
With the trajectory of his recovery, it seemed he could be back after the All-Star Break.
Jonny Lazarus of Daily Faceoff reported that Chytil was on the ice for an extended period before leaving with the help of the training staff and teammates.
The status of Chytil is unknown. His health is the most important aspect of this setback.
