James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports - Rangers Injury Report: Jimmy Vesey Returns To Practice, Blake Wheeler 'Banged Up'

A couple interesting developments came out of the New York Rangers’ Saturday practice ahead of Game 6 against the Florida Panthers.

First off, Jimmy Vesey returned to practice in a non-contact jersey.

Vesey suffered an upper-body injury in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final after taking a hit from Ryan Lomberg.

The 31-year-old forward was listed as week-to-week following his injury, but it’s a positive sign to see him back on the ice.

His timetable for a potential return to the lineup is still unclear.

On the other side of things, The New York Posts’ Mollie Walker reported that Blake Wheeler is ‘a little banged up’ and did not practice with the Rangers on Saturday.

Wheeler suffered a leg injury in November that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the regular season and carried into the playoffs.

The 37-year-old forward made a return for New York in Game 4 against the Panthers, but did not play the following game.

It’s unknown if Wheeler’s current injury is related to his previous leg issue.
