The Ranger's 2019 2nd overall pick left the game tonight against the Sabres following with an injury.

New York, N.Y- Kaapo Kakko left the game tonight after a hit he sustained with 5:00 remaining in the 2nd period of the contest.

The winger had 2 goals and 1 assist in 19 games played this season. He has suffered a number of injuries throughout his 5 year NHL career.

This may force the Rangers to call up a player like Brennan Othmann or to shuffle the deck and see how they can plug the 3RW hole. 

The injury appears severe, as he needed assistance leaving the ice. It is not known when Filip Chytil will return, and Adam Fox is on track to play on Wednesday.
