While it seems Filip Chytil has avoided a serious injury, it’s still unclear when he will return back to the ice.

Larry Brooks of The New York Post reported that Chytil is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury and he won’t necessarily just jump back into the lineup.

Peter Laviolette confirmed that Chytil will be joining the New York Rangers in Calgary, but did not divulge whether or not he would play.

“I think our doctors do a really good job of protecting the players and making sure that when they come back that they’re healthy,” Laviolette said via The New York Post’s Mollie Walker. “When that happens, that’s when Fil will be available.”

The 24-year-old reportedly did not suffer a concussion last week after colliding with K’Andre Miller in a game against the San Jose Sharks, something that was originally feared.

Chytil will not play in the Rangers’ Tuesday night game against the Vancouver Canucks and it’s unclear if he’ll make his return on Thursday night to face the Calgary Flames.
