During his brief time with the Rangers last year, Dylan Garand had a funny yet wholesome interaction with Marc-André Fleury.

While Dylan Garand didn’t play for the New York Rangers through his brief stint last season, he experienced a moment that he won’t ever forget.

Garand was called-up for one game last season by the Rangers to be the backup goalie.

During warm ups prior to the game, Garand shared a little interaction with Marc-André Fleury that he truly cherished.

“I think the highlight of that for me was during warm ups, I went up the redline to start skating and warming up and Marc-André Fleury was coming out,” Garand said. “He came up to me and said ‘hi’ and then skated away. It was just so cool. You see that guy on TV everyday, so face-to-face in person, that was an awesome experience.”

Fleury is known to be a goalie with a unique personality who loves to have fun with his opponents so this story is not surprising.

The 39-year-old is a class act and whether he knew who Garand was or not, he allowed the young goaltender to experience a moment that he still is raving about.

This past season, Garand really elevated his game for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL as he recorded a 5-4 record, 2.59 goals against average and .922 save percentage.
