Alexis Lafrenière and the Rangers are reportedly close to reaching an agreement on a seven-year deal, coming in at under $7.6 million per season.

A deal for Alexis Lafrenière is in the works.

According to Larry Brooks of The New York Post, The Rangers and Lafrenière are closing in on a seven-year deal, coming in at under $7.6 million per season.

Through the first seven games of the season, Lafrenière has recorded four goals, three assists and seven points.

Since last season when he had his best statistical year, Lafrenière has been emerging into a star, so signing a contract under $7.6 million could be groundbreaking for the Rangers.
