The NHL Trade Deadline is just a few hours away, and Vincent Trocheck’s future still remains a mystery.

Despite holding Trocheck out of the lineup due to roster management on Thursday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New York Rangers still have not traded Trocheck.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers have indicated they are prepared to keep Trocheck if they don't get what they feel they need.

Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury has reportedly told other teams that they are not trading him just for the sake of making a trade.

Some teams linked to be interested in trading for Trocheck include the Minnesota Wild, Carolina Hurricanes, and Detroit Red Wings.

“If I’m gonna get traded to a team that’s in the same situation as us, then I don’t want to move,” Trocheck said. “That sounds miserable in a new city. I am 32 years old. I would like to win a Stanley Cup, so if I am going to get traded, I would like to go to a team that’s winning, or has a chance to win.”

The 32-year-old forward holds a 12-team no-trade clause, and he emphasized his desire to remain on the East Coast if he were to be traded.

Given Trocheck’s manageable $5.625 million cap hit until 2029 and strong two-way skillset as a center, he’s one of the more desirable players on the market leading up to the trade deadline.

In 46 games this season, Trocheck has recorded 12 goals, 27 assists, and 39 points, while averaging 20:52 minutes.
