Matt Rempe will continue his development with the Hatford Wolf Pack.
The New York Rangers have officially sent Matt Rempe back down the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
After sending Rempe to the Wolf Pack on October 24, the Rangers called him back up just three days later as he played in their game against the Washington Capitals.
With the Rangers officially past the 10-game mark, Jimmy Vesey is eligible to return from long-term injured reserve, which ultimately led to Rempe getting sent down.
The 22-year-old has played in just three games for the Rangers this season where he is averaging 5:26 minutes and is yet to record a point.
Playing the AHL will ultimately be the best thing for Rempe to further his development.
“Got to go play 17/18/19 minutes the last two games, played center, played all situations,” Rempe said about his time in Hartford. “It was good for me... Hadn't played a lot of minutes in a long while so it was good for me to get all those game situations, feel the puck, play not just the physical side and play in a top-six role.”
