The New York Rangers have signed goaltending prospects Dylan Garand and Talyn Boyko to one-year, two-way contract extensions.
The deals are worth a league minimum of $775,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the AHL level, with $125,000 guaranteed.
Garand has emerged as the Rangers’ top goaltending prospect in their pipeline.
This past season was Garand’s best as a professional with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
The 23-year-old goalie recorded a 20-10-9 record, .913 save percentage, and 2.73 goals against average while also representing the Atlantic Division at the AHL All-Star Game during the 2024-25 season.
The Rangers selected Boyko in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
There's A Lot Of Pressure On Artemi Panarin This Upcoming Season Without A Contract Extension In Place
After all he’s done, Artemi Panarin is still entering the 2025-26 season with a lot to prove.
Despite spending most of the 2024-25 campaign with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL, the departure of Louis Domingue could help pave a pathway for Boyko to carve out the backup goaltending position in Hartford behind Garand.
