The Rangers have some critical games coming up, which could impact what the team does at the NHL Trade Deadline.
All that the NHL insiders, outsiders and no-siders are doing these days is talking trades.
And why not? With the Trade Deadline just around the calendar the perfect rumor season is with us the annual intensity.
But where does that leave the Rangers? From the New York angle the "Touchables" are as follows:
* CHRIS KREIDER: Because Chris Drury once said that Kreider was "available" that means that he still is; but who'd want him? Certainly not simply based on last night's shortlanded goal. Kreider's back issues, age and worn tires say he stays.
* MIKA ZIBANEJAD: The only reason to mention him is the fact that – up until a week ago – he portrayed the square root of chai failure. Plus, Magical Z takes his "no trade" clause seriously.
* RYAN LINDGREN: Like Kreider, Ryan's star has fallen although he's shown some rebound-ability lately. There may be some interest out there. The fact that Zac Jones looked poised and positioned last night vs. Boston tells me that Lindgren could go. But where?
If the Blueshirts win their next two games – Pittsburgh and Columbus – before the break, I say no trade will be made
This team may well have gelled and this J.T.-inspired lineup could pull off a playoff berth!
