The Rangers have acquired Nicolas Aube-Kubel from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Erik Brännström.

This was the only trade the Rangers made on the day of the NHL Trade Deadline.

Aube-Kubel has split his time this season with the Sabres and Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

According to Vince Z. Mercogliano Aube-Kubel is expected to report to the Hartford Wolf Pack, but he could factor in as a depth piece down the stretch.

Through his seven-year NHL career, Aube-Kubel has played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs,  Washington Capitals and Sabres.

The 28-year-old has recorded one goal, one assist and two points in 19 games for the Sabres this year while averaging 9:32 minutes.
