Igor Shesterkin picked up another win in goal, stopping 40 of the Flyers 41 shots. This is Shesterkin's third straight game giving up just one goal.
Sam Ersson made 22 saves in a losing effort for the Flyers.
Matt Rempe was under the spotlight again, as he fought Nic Deslauriers three minutes into the game. Rempe was back in the lineup after an ejection during Thursday's win in New Jersey. This fight was a battle of two heavyweights and did not disappoint.
Rempe scored the game-winning goal with what was his first career NHL goal in the third period.
The Flyers had two chances on the power play in the first period, and the Rangers had one. Neither team was able to light the lamp in the first 20 minutes, but Philadelphia doubled New York in shots, tallying 18 compared to nine.
It took until the 11:56 mark of the second period for the game's first goal. Alexis Lafreniere stayed hot and scored in his second straight game.
Vincent Trocheck dropped the puck after a smooth zone entry for Lafreniere to rip it past the goaltender Ersson. The secondary assist went to K'Andre Miller and the goal gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead.
The second period ended with just the one goal to show for it. The Rangers this time doubled the Flyers in shots 10-5.
2:36 into the third period, Tyson Forester tied the game up for the Flyers. A shot from the point by Travis Sanheim went wide, before Scott Laughton wrapped it in front for Forester to slam it in.
However, 6:30 into the third the Rangers reclaimed their lead at 2-1. Rempe deflected home a shot off his skate after it was intitally tipped by Barclay Goodrow.
Braden Schneider tallied the secondary assist with the shot from the point. For Rempe, it's his first NHL goal after accumulating three fights in his first four games.
The goal held on to be the game-winner, as the Rangers won their tenth-straight game.
