Matt Rempe is a popular guy on and off the ice.
At the NHLPA Rookie Combine, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Rutger McGroarty met Matt Rempe and had nothing but good things to say about the enforcer.
“One of a kind guy, honestly,” McGroarty said via Greg Wyshynski of ESPN. “Such a nice guy. So down to earth, just an amazing guy.”
Wyshynski also reported that McGroarty stated that meeting Rempe was his favorite part of the rookie combine.
Since Rempe only played 17 games this past season, he is still technically a rookie, which is why he attended the combine.
The 21-year-old is not only becoming a fan favorite, but the players love his unique personality and playing style as well.
There is a respect factor for his fighting while his larger than life personality is something that is infectious in a good way.
While Rempe may be making some friends, once he gets back on the ice, he is willing to drop the gloves with anybody.
