Ryan Lindgren and the Rangers are set for an arbitration hearing as the two sides are still yet to agree on a new contract.

Ryan Lindgren officially filed for salary arbitration with the New York Rangers on Friday.

The Rangers were reportedly ‘grinding’ to get a deal done with Lindgren, but the two sides were unable to get on the same page, which has led to this.

Now, Lindgren and the Rangers will present their respective cases to an independent arbitrator, determining his contract for the upcoming season.

Hearings are set to be held between July 20 and August 4 but a deal can still be reached beforehand.

The 26-year-old defenseman is a restricted free agent and is reportedly looking for a long term contract.

Lindgren has emerged as one of New York’s top defensemen. He is coming off a season where he averaged 19:21 minutes of ice time while recording 17 points in 76 games.

The Rangers qualified Lindgren at $3.6 million, so that will be the starting point in arbitration talks.
