Ryan Lindgren was honest when addressing the trade rumors involving himself.

Throughout the 2024-25 season thus far, Ryan Lindgren has been the subject of numerous trade rumors.

His contract with the New York Rangers will expire at the end of the year as he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

It’s only natural Lindgren finds himself in trade speculation, but that doesn't mean he likes to hear all the outside noise.

"I just try and block it out," Lindgren said via Larry Brooks of the New York Post. "I don't like hearing or seeing my name included in these rumors but I know where I am with my contract and I get it, I'm just trying to do my best, focus on hockey, with what the team needs and try and enjoy it."

After a slow start to the season dealing with a facial injury, Lindgren has settled back in and is now playing some impressive hockey.

Between his on-ice performance and leadership contributions, Peter Laviolette has been impressed with Lindgren.

“I think Ryan Lindgren through his play has come back and really provided some good leadership inside our team based on what he’s been doing on the ice,” Laviolette said.

The 26-year-old’s future will likely depend on the Rangers' place in the standings during the days leading up to the Mar. 7 NHL Trade Deadline.

There is certainly a scenario where Lindgren remains in New York until the end of the season, but if anyone were to be traded, it would be him.
