With Ryan Lindgren returning to practice for the Rangers in a full face mask, there is more clarity on the exact injury he sustained.

Ryan Lindgren is back practicing with the New York Rangers and we might just have a hint on what sort of upper-body injury he actually sustained.

After fighting Scott Mayfield in the preseason, Lindgren suffered an apparent upper-body injury and was quickly listed as week-to-week.

Now Lindgren is inching towards a return and Mollie Walker of the New York Post reported that he was wearing a full face mask during practice today.

This is an indication that Lindgren likely suffered some sort of facial injury during his fight with Mayfield.

The 26-year-old defenseman was placed on injured reserve with his timeline to return still unknown, but the fact that he is already practicing with the team is certainly a positive sign that he’ll come back sooner rather than later.
