Many citizens of Rangerville couldn't wait to see Chris Kreider go bye-bye. He was over-the-hill, wounded and fed up with his Boss.

GM Chris Drury made that evident last year, but that doesn't mean Kreider's ultimate trade to Anaheim has everyone doing cartwheels of joy.

As a matter of fact, I know one  Follower of the Beloved Kreider who was so upset about his idol's dismissal to California that he sought his rabbi for solace.

Todd Siben of Boynton Beach, Florida is the Ranger fanatic in question and here's exactly what he told The Maven: (Remember, you can't make this up:)

"I recently attended a gala event at my synagogue which has many Rangers fans in the congregation, including Rabbi Simon. Jokingly, I mentioned to the Rabbi that I needed to say "Kaddish" because I had suffered a loss.

"The Rabbi looked at me concerned and asked me to tell him more. I responded that I'm dealing with the 'loss' of Chris Kreider. Then, I asked if I could legitimately say 'Kaddish' and I smiled."

Which was a good idea since there are limits to how one should react to a hockey trade, even if it happens to be a longtime favorite; although definitely not one of The Maven's.

(I couldn't have cared less had overpaid-underperforming Kreider wound up with the Tasmanian Tortoises.)

As for Kreider's future, the mourning Siben adds: "Chris will wind up on Anaheim's third line and likely get 20 goals."

Yeah – and a grand total of two assists! Todd and The Maven agree on one issue: "I'd like to see K'Andre Miller get moved."

The miracle here is that Siben didn't say a word about that roving troubadour Mika Zibanjejad, The Rich Man's DJ. Egad!  His wife, Irma, Z  is now doing interviews.

As the hockey world – from Boynton Beach to Sweden – gets nuttier what zany thing can possibly happen next?

I got it! Drury will trade MSG's Zamboni to the Brooklyn Ice Palace for a ton of sticks!
