    1. Rangers fans have lost a familiar voice now that longtime Blueshirts hockey analyst on many levels, Don LaGreca moves across the Hudson to become the Devils MSG Networks play-by-play guy.

    2. Since Dave Maloney officially has been upped to his logical role alongside new Rangers P-By-P Kenny Albert, expect a scramble for the newly-created radio openings.

    3. A major "culture" change for new coach Mike Sullivan is that he won't have to take any "advice" on how to run the team from his captain. Sully enjoyed the good and the not-so-good  working with Sidney Crosby for a full decade.

    4. Since the Rangers lack a dominating personality like Crosby it will be interesting who Sully selects for his captain.

    5. Then again, the coach might want to wait a bit to get a better idea just who the genuine leader is on the team. (At the moment it appears to be The Phantom Of The Opera.)

    6. You'd think Adam Fox would be the guy since he's from the area as well as being an original Blueshirt, unlike Vin Trocheck or J.T. Miller.  (Maven prefers Will Cuylle.)

    7. Is this a "Fun Fact" or not? The Rangers have made the playoffs 11 out of the past 15 seasons and gone to either the conference finals or Cup Final five times in that span.

    8. Not A Fun Fan Fact: In March The Athletic polled Rangers fans on "Organizational Stability," as well as treatment of the fan base. When the results came in the Blueshirts ranked 25th in O.S. and 28th re "Treatment Of The Fan Base."

Why The Rangers' New Blueliners Will Lift The Rangers Into The Playoffs Why The Rangers' New Blueliners Will Lift The Rangers Into The Playoffs You don't need Chris Drury to tell you that  defense was his club's Achilles heel in this past disastrous season. The Maven saw it; you saw it and K'Andre Miller made it happen.

    9. Advice to Mike Sullivan from Maven Round Table Chairman Mark Linde: "Give the young talent real opportunities to play, not a few shifts here and there like his predecessor."

    10. It's still early summer which means that Chris Drury has oodles of time to haul in one major competitive talent, preferably a reasonable facsimile of Sam Bennett.

    11. Opponents I'm Gonna Miss Department: Ever since tiny Henri (Pocket Rocket) Richard retired after being on 11 Stanley Cup-winners, I've always liked to single out the little guys who made good. The latest retiree in that category is Tyler Johnson whose engine helped Tampa Bay to a couple of Cups.
