Chris Kreider is expected to miss his second consecutive game with an apparent upper-body injury.

It’s unclear when Kreider suffered this upper-body injury, but he’s been dealing with a nagging back issue all season long, which could be what’s currently keeping him out of the lineup.

Here’s the good news though, Kreider did skate with the team on Tuesday morning for practice and the New York Rangers are yet to put him on injured reserve or long-term injured reserve.

Brennan Othmann will take Kreider’s spot on Tuesday night against the New York Islanders as he was just recently called up from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Kreider has recorded 17 goals, four assists and 21 points in 48 games while averaging 17:14 minutes this season.
