Give Rangers fans credit; at least they tried to get Chris Drury canned and although their valiant effort failed, they still want to be heard.

Former Brooklyn College hockey star Jeffrey Lubin urges Drury to take his future cues from winning teams such as the Knights of Las Vegas.

"The VGKR guys have won four (Pacific) division championships in their eight years," says Lubin, "and they've already won a Stanley Cup. Drury should consider hiring hockey operations personnel from VGK.

"Regarding a new Rangers coach, I prefer someone who is not a retread. Perhaps there's another Spencer Carbery (Washington Capitals) out there."

Decrying Drury's inept leadership, others single out the GM's many mistakes such as misjudging talents such as left wing Pavel Buchnevich who has gone on to star for the Blues. (He had a hat trick and an assist last night vs. Winnipeg.)

"It's sad to watch the playoffs and inevitably contemplate the Ranger diaspora," says Manhattanite Lloyd MacKay. "Not just Buchnevich but watching Neal Pionk in Winnipeg or Colin Blackwell scoring a winning goal in OT.

"Brett Howden wins a Stanley Cup and this year breaking out offensively. Or Vladislav Namestrikov finding a home on a terrific Winnipeg team. Or, Jack Roslovic producing in Carolina or Mats Zuccarello continuing to produce in Minnesota."
