Here's the latest on Igor Shesterkin's contract situation with the Rangers.

Despite some rumors circulating, Igor Shesterkin and the New York Rangers may still take some time to agree on a new contract extension.

According to Arthur Staple of The Athletic, there's nothing new on the Shesterkin contract front.

This report comes after Kevin Weekes of ESPN posted a picture of the New York City skyline with “$11.5?” caption indicating that Shesterkin could be set to sign a contract extension worth $11.5 million per season.

Weekes also reported prior to the start of the season that Shesterkin rejected an eight-year, $88 million contract from the Rangers, which would have made him the highest paid goalie in NHL history.

It’s unclear if Shesterkin and the Rangers will agree on a new contract during the season or if this saga will last until the summer.
