The wheels are in motion between the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks regarding a Chris Kreider trade.

According to ESPN’s Emily Kaplan, there’s a good chance Chris Kreider gets dealt from the Rangers to the Ducks today.

Kaplan notes that the framework includes Anaheim taking on Kreider’s full salary, no retention as also reported by Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today on Tuesday night.

Despite Kreider holding a 15-trade no-trade clause that includes the Ducks, Larry Brooks of The New York Post stated via X that Kreider and Drury have been in constant communication throughout the process, so his no-trade clause shouldn’t be an issue.

Since Tuesday night, reports have continued to progress about a potential trade that would send Kreider to Anaheim as the likelihood of him moving has become inevitable if it wasn’t already.

The 34-year-old forward recorded 22 goals, eight assists, and 30 points in 68 games while averaging 16:45 minutes this past season.

Kreider still has two years remaining on his contract with a $6.5 million AAV.
