
The New York Rangers announced on Wednesday morning that they have inked their 20-year-old forward prospect Jaroslav Chmelar to his three-year entry-level contract.
The Czechia native just finished up his second season at Providence College, scoring five goals with 10 assists in 26 games after a rookie season that saw him score 12 goals with 16 assists in 59 games.
Drafted in the fifth round (No. 144) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Chmelar represented Team Czechia at the 2022 and 2023 World Junior U-20 Championships, scoring six points (four goals, two assists) in 10 games.
