Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren returned to practice today in a non-contact jersey. Meanwhile, Erik Gustaffson missed practice and has been deemed day-to-day.

The New York Rangers received some good news on Monday regarding their blue line.

Defenseman Ryan Lindgren returned to practice after suffering a lower-body injury in their 5-2 win against the New York Islanders on March 17 after getting tangled with forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau:

Lindgren was seen in a non-contact jersey earlier this morning:

In 66 games this season, Lindgren has 13 points, with two goals, 11 assists, and owns a plus/minus of 19.

He also leads the team in 179:36 played on the penalty kill, which sits fourth-best at 83.6 percent.

The Rangers' backend has been dealing with injuries recently, with captain Jacob Trouba also out of the lineup, missed the last nine games due to a lower-body injury.

To add to the list, the Rangers announced that defenseman Erik Gustafsson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury following what seemed to be an incidental hit from Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart:

Gustafsson has notched 30 points (six goals, 24 assists) in 70 games, averaging 17:15 per game.

There is no true timetable for all three Rangers defensemen who are currently out of the lineup.

With the Stanley Cup playoffs right around the corner, the Rangers hope to get back three key pieces to their backend sooner rather than later.

The Rangers battle the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night at Madsion Square Garden.
