Matt Rempe is back better than ever. Rempe got into a fight against Dylan McIlrath in his first shift back after getting recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League. The 22-year-old was sent down to the AHL last week, but was quickly brought back up specifically for the New York Rangers’ Tuesday night matchup against the Washington Capitals. Seconds into his first shift, Rempe dropped the gloves with McIlrath as the two fought for over 30 seconds before Rempe went tumbling to the ice. It’s unclear what instigated the incident with the fight seeming almost pre-planned. Stan Fischler talks about Matt Rempe.
