Flyers Can't Let Opposition Score First

The Philadelphia Flyers have an abysmal record when their opposition scores first.

The Philadelphia Flyers are cursed. Although they sport an 11-10-1 record overall, their record is less flowery when you look at the games where their opponent scores first.

When the Flyers are the first to find the back of the net they are 11-1-0. If their opponent scores the first goal that record is 0-9-0.

As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm - and the Flyers need to be the early bird when it comes to goals.

It is easier for a team to lock it down defensively if they know that they have a goal "in the bank". If they are chasing a goal throughout 50 minutes of a game, it's not helpful for locking things down for the opposition.

Until this record starts to skew the proper way, they will have to move heaven and earth to be the first team to score every single night.
