The Philadelphia Flyers will be back on Broad Street for their home opener Tuesday night when they take on the Vancouver Canucks at Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers are 1-1-0 in their first two games of the season and are fresh off a loss to Claude Giroux and the Ottawa Senators, falling by a score of 5-2 Saturday afternoon. The Canucks, meanwhile have won both of their first two tilts.
Here's everything to know going into the home opener.
When: 6 p.m. ET
Where: Wells Fargo Center
Radio: 97.5 The Fanatic
TV: NBC Sports Philadelphia
1. Sean Couturier is listed as day-to-day with an unspecified injury. Flyers head coach John Tortorella insisted Couturier's injury is not related to the pair of back surgeries that kept him out of action for the entire 2022-23 season (and half of the 2021-22 season). Couturier may suit up for the home opener, but given the ambiguity of his condition, his status remains a big question mark.
2. With Couturier's status up in the air, Scott Laughton could be in line to take over duties as the Flyers' No. 1 center. He skated on the top line Monday after slotting in on the third line the first two games of the season.
3. Travis Konecny has potted three goals in the Flyers' first two games. If Couturier does not suit up, Konecny's offensive prowess will become even more crucial.
