3 Flyers Trade Candidates Heading Into 2024-25

The Philadelphia Flyers have some players to watch in the rumor mill as we head into the 2024-25 campaign.

The Philadelphia Flyers are still in the rebuilding phase. Because of this, we could certainly see some of their players find new homes during the 2024-25 season.

Let's discuss the Flyers' top three trade candidates heading into the new campaign now.

    Joel Farabee

Joel Farabee has generated plenty of buzz in the rumor mill this offseason. It is understandable, as the Flyers have plenty of depth on the wing, and the 2018 first-round pick looks like he is the odd man out of their top six.

With Farabee being only 24 years old and an impactful scorer, he is the Flyers' top trade chip right now. Due to this, he could be used to improve the Flyers' roster elsewhere, whether that is down the middle or on their blueline. Out of the players on this list, he likely has the most potential to be traded before the start of the season.

    Scott Laughton

Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, Scott Laughton was among the most talked-about players in the rumor mill. However, while he generated a plethora of interest, the Flyers elected to hold onto him for the remainder of the season. Talk has lingered into the offseason, and it will be interesting to see what the Flyers end up doing with the 2012 first-round pick.

The Flyers certainly do not need to rush any potential Laughton trade, as he is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 campaign and a key leader in their room. However, with the 30-year-old being a popular player in the market, they could move him this season if they receive an offer they can't refuse. The Colorado Avalanche, Buffalo Sabres, and Ottawa Senators were linked to him earlier this summer.

    Morgan Frost

Morgan Frost has been discussed in the rumor mill for quite some time, and this summer, it has remained so. Even after ending the season with 30 points in his final 44 games, questions about his future in Philadelphia continue to arise.

Ultimately, Frost appears to be entering a make-or-break year with the Flyers. If he carries over his hot stretch of play from the end of last season to 2024-25, he could cement himself a long-term future in Philly. Yet, if he struggles with consistency and gets back into John Tortorella's dog house, the Flyers could flip him to land another impactful forward or defender.
