Top Philadelphia Flyers prospect Porter Martone will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting young prospects playing in the NCAA this season, but, strangely, some would disagree.

On Friday, Bleacher Report posted a ranking of their top 10 NCAA prospects to watch on collegiate ice next season and, as the title of this article indicates, Martone was left off entirely.

Not only that, but some of the choices who made the cut at his expense just don't add up.

Of those players, it's notable that two of Martone's Michigan State University teammates - Cayden Lindstrom and Ryker Lee - ranked No. 10 and No. 7, respectively, made the list.

It should also be noted that each of the 2025 draft picks featured in Bleacher Report's ranking - Lee, James Hagens, Jackson Smith, and Roger McQueen - were all drafted after Martone in June.

And, considering the 18-year-old Flyers prospect was widely viewed as a top-three talent in the 2025 draft with potential to make the NHL outright this year, Martone's omission was even more bizarre.

After ripping off 37 goals and 98 points in 57 games as the captain of the OHL Brampton Steelheads last season, Martone is already considered too good for CHL hockey.

Following development camp and conversations with the Flyers, the 2025 No. 6 overall pick opted for at least one year of collegiate play with Michigan State, which will serve as a happy medium between the OHL and NHL in the absence of the AHL.

So, with that all said, Martone's exclusion from the ranking of the top NCAA prospects borders on outrageous, especially after all the rave reviews he earned out of Philadelphia this summer.

But, it's all motivation the 6-foot-3 winger can take with him into the season as he aspires to make the NHL and debut for the Flyers in the near future.

This isn't the first time Martone has been snubbed and overlooked since being drafted by the Flyers, and it likely won't be the last.
