The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks, per Elliotte Friedman. The Ducks will receive Ryan Poehling, their 45th pick this year, and a fourth‑round pick in 2026.
Zegras brings a unique flair to the Flyers’ forward group. At 24, he’s already established himself as an entertaining and creative playmakers, a human highlight reel capable of making jaw‑dropping passes and one‑on‑one moves that electrify the crowd. But this isn’t just about flash. The Flyers get a confident, competitive center who can drive offense and provide a dynamic presence that the team has been searching for.
For some fans, this feels like a storyline ripped from a screenplay. When defenseman Jamie Drysdale was dealt to Philadelphia in early 2024, Anaheim faithful openly mourned the end of the “DuckDuo,” the nickname that came to define the tight bond between Drysdale and Zegras. Now, after months apart, the best friends are sharing a locker room again — this time in South Philly.
For a franchise trying to turn the page and write its next chapter, this is as intriguing as it gets: a bold move for a bold player, a reunion for the ages, and an injection of energy and swagger that the Flyers have long been looking for. The “DuckDuo” lives on — this time, in a different shade of orange and black.
