The Philadelphia Flyers received some favorable ratings in the upcoming NHL 26 game from EA Sports, though some particular attributes were downright bizarre.

Notably, star rookie Matvei Michkov, top forward Travis Konecny, and No. 1 defenseman Travis Sanheim led a three-way tie for the Flyers, each coming in as 88 overall players.

Flyers captain Sean Couturier checked in at a respectable 85 overall after a solid bounce-back year, with Owen Tippett and Cam York filing in close behind at 84.

After them, Bobby Brink, Noah Cates, Trevor Zegras (83), and Nick Seeler (82) rounded things out for the Flyers' highest-rated players in the game.

Notably absent were players like Tyson Foerster, who should probably be an 84 or 85 due to his two-way prowess, offensive and defensive awareness, and strong shot, and defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, who has performed admirably despite dealing with significant injuries.

In terms of speed, Michkov had an 86, which is tied with York and higher than Brink (83), Cates (81), and Zegras (85).

For all his talents, Michkov is certainly not one of the fastest Flyers players.

On the other side of the coin, Michkov's passing should be the highest on the team, but his 92 passing rating trails Konecny's 93 by one.

Report: Porter Martone, Gavin McKenna NCAA Outdoor Clash Planned for Early 2026 Report: Porter Martone, Gavin McKenna NCAA Outdoor Clash Planned for Early 2026 According to a report, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Porter Martone will headline an outdoor clash between Michigan State University and Gavin McKenna and Penn State University in 2026.

Somehow, Tippett's 91 speed is ahead of Sanheim's 90 by only one, while Sanheim's 90 acceleration is tied with Konecny's 90 acceleration. Oh, and Sanheim's 90 speed leads Konecny (89) by one, somehow.

I could go on and on about individual ratings in particular, but the big picture is that, as has been a theme this whole offseason, people don't pay attention to the Flyers all that much.

Perhaps they didn't deserve the credence after finishing with the fourth-worst record in the NHL last season, and this is EA Sports we're talking about.

I don't play the game anymore and don't necessarily plan to (I was a top 100 goalie player back in 2014), especially considering the same issues continue to plague the game.

But, hey, maybe a few tweaks on these ratings can at least make franchise mode a little more interesting!
