This Flyer is the team's biggest X-factor heading into the playoffs.
It's an exciting time for the Philadelphia Flyers right now. Due to a late-season surge, the Flyers have made the playoffs for the first time since 2020. They will also be playing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round, which will undoubtedly be a treat to watch.
With the playoffs just about here, there is no question that the Flyers' biggest X-factor during them is goaltender Dan Vladar.
Vladar is a massive reason why the Flyers made the playoffs, as he gave them a much-needed answer for their starting goalie position. In his first season with the Flyers this campaign, Vladar had a 29-14-7 record, a 2.42 goals-against average, and a .906 save percentage. With this, he thrived during his first year as a Flyer and will now be looking to translate that over to the playoffs.
Vladar also ended the season on a strong note, as he had a .923 save percentage or better in five out of his last six appearances. With this, the 28-year-old goaltender is entering the playoffs hot.
If the Flyers hope to go on a real run as underdogs this postseason, they will need Vladar to be on his A-game. It will be fascinating to see how the 2015 third-round pick performs for the Flyers this postseason from here.
