The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that defenseman Oliver Bonk will be out day-to-day due to an upper-body injury.

Bonk, 20, spent this past season in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the London Knights. In 52 games on the year with the OHL squad, the 6-foot-2 defenseman recorded 11 goals, 29 assists, 40 points, and a plus-37 rating. This was after he posted 24 goals and 67 points in 60 games with the Knights during the 2023-24 season.

Bonk is one of the Flyers' most promising prospects, as the Metropolitan Division club selected him with the 22nd overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. With this, they will certainly be hoping that he has a speedy recovery and that he suffers no setbacks with his injury recovery. If he does get cleared to return to the ice soon, it would open the door for him to try to prove to the Flyers that he is ready for the NHL level.
