The Flyers should strongly consider targeting Ducks forward Mason McTavish.

One of the Philadelphia Flyers' top objectives this off-season should be to add another top-six center. They need to improve down the middle if they hope to take another step in the right direction next season.

Due to this, one off-season trade candidate who could make a lot of sense for the Flyers to pursue is Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish.

McTavish being healthy scratched twice this post-season has already created some questions about his long-term future in Anaheim. If the Ducks were to make him available for trade, the Flyers would be wise to pursue him.

McTavish did have a quiet year offensively for the Ducks this regular-season, as he recorded 17 goals and 41 points in 75 games. However, this is after he had 22 goals and 52 points in 2024-25, so he has shown that he contribute more offensively when playing at his best.

McTavish being just 23 years old also makes him a potential fit for a team on the rise like the Flyers. This is especially so when noting that he would be more than a rental for the Flyers, as he has a $7 million cap hit until the end of the 2030-31 campaign. With this, he would be much more than a one-year rental for the Flyers if acquired.

McTavish is also still young enough that he could improve from a change of scenery. This adds to his appeal in a major way, and it will be interesting to see if the Flyers will kick tires on him this summer because of it.
