The Flyers have sent this defenseman back down to the AHL.

As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

The Philadelphia Flyers have re-assigned defenseman Helge Grans to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Grans, 22, was called up by the Flyers back on Nov. 18. He appeared in his first six career NHL games following that, where he had one assist, four hits, five blocks, and an even plus/minus rating.

Grans will now continue to work on his game down in the AHL with the Phantoms. In 14 games this season with the AHL squad, he has one goal, three points, and a minus- 4 rating.

If Grans impresses with the Phantoms, it would undoubtedly help his chances of receiving another call-up from the Flyers before the season is done.
