Matvei Michkov heating up for the Flyers is coming at a great time.

After a strong rookie season in 2024-25, Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov has had a quieter year this campaign. In 77 games, the 2023 seventh-overall pick has recorded 17 goals and 45 points. This is after he had 26 goals, 37 assists, and 63 points in 80 games for the Flyers this past season.

While Michkov's offense has dropped this season compared to his rookie campaign, there is no question that the 21-year-old winger is starting to heat up at the perfect time for the Flyers. In his last three games, the 5-foot-10 forward has recorded one goal and five points. This included him recording two assists in the Flyers' most recent contest against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. He also had three points against the New York Islanders on April 3.

With the Flyers looking to cement themselves a playoff spot, there is no question that it is a good thing that Michkov is red-hot for them right now. If he keeps this kind of play up, it would be huge for the Flyers.

Michkov is a very skilled offensive player, and he has been showing that down the stretch. It will be interesting to see how he finishes off the season with Philadelphia from here.
