The Flyers should consider making this move with this young forward.

The Philadelphia Flyers have several young players with good upside. One of them is 2020 first-round pick Tyson Foerster.

Foerster took a big step forward in his development this past season and cemented himself as a legitimate NHL player. In 77 games, the 6-foot-2 forward had 20 goals, 13 assists, and 33 points. Now, in 2024-25, he is only improving

After recording just three points in his first 16 games, Foerster has turned things around in a big way. In 41 games this season, the Alliston, Ontario native now has 12 goals and 19 points. This includes 10 goals and 16 points over his last 25 games. With this, he has not only broken the ice but has also been one of the Flyers' top offensive contributors down the stretch.

The potential for Foerster to hit an even higher level and become a legitimate top-six winger is there. Due to this and the youngster continuing to improve, they should seriously consider the prospect of signing him to a contract extension with term.

Foerster is a pending restricted free agent, so he will remain under team control this summer. However, given how well he has played, getting his new contract done early would be great. Let's see if they do just that from here.
