Bonk is coming off an impressive season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman prospect Oliver Bonk has officially put pen to paper on his first NHL contract.

Monday morning, Flyers general manager Danny Briere announced Bonk signed a three-year, entry-level deal.

Bonk, 18, was selected with the No. 22 overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Bonk's father, Radek, spent 14 seasons playing in the NHL from 1994 to 2009, logging 194 goals and 497 points in 969 games between the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, and Nashville Predators.

Bonk, a right-shot defenseman, is coming off a strong season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. He logged 10 goals and 40 points in 67 games and added 11 more points (all assists) in 21 postseason games.

At 6-foot-2 and 176 pounds, Bonk is a solid two-way defender who could serve as a key cog on an NHL blue line one day. But for now, he's likely to spend another season or two in London before eventually turning pro.
