Another one.
According to multiple reports, the Philadelphia Flyers have made another re-signing, this time giving a blockbuster contract extension to winger Tyson Foerster.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports the Foerster extension will be for eight years, worth approximately $56 million (in the region of $7 million cap hit), with the Flyers locking down another winger they view crucial to the future success of the franchise.
Update: PHLY's Charlie O'Connor reports that it is a $7.1 million cap hit for Foerster, making this an eight-year extension worth a total of $56.8 million.
Foerster, 24, has one year remaining on his current contract at a $3.75 million cap hit.
A 2020 first-round pick, Foerster scored 13 goals, four assists, and 17 points in just 29 regular season games with the Flyers last season, fighting back from what was originally a season-ending injury to get back on the ice to finish the season.
In his NHL career thus far, Foerster has 61 goals in 195 games for the Flyers.
This story will be updated as more details come to light.
