This Flyers forward is playing great hockey right now.

As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

After posting career highs with 28 goals, 25 assists, and 53 points in 78 games last season, Philadelphia Flyers forward Owen Tippett had a bit of a slow start this campaign. In 28 games, he has eight goals, seven assists, and a minus-9 rating.

However, Tippett has been playing excellent hockey lately and has broken the ice. Over his last four games, the 2017 first-round pick has four goals, including a two-goal game against his old team, the Florida Panthers, on Dec. 5.

Before this ongoing hot streak, Tippett hit a rough patch. In his previous 10 games before it started, he had just one goal and one assist. Thus, this hot streak was undoubtedly needed for the Peterborough, Ontario native, and he has stepped up big time.

It will now be fascinating to see how he builds on it. The Flyers are facing off against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday (Dec. 10), and Tippett will look to stay red-hot from here.
