James van Riemsdyk's second stint with the Flyers has come to an end.

One of the Philadelphia Flyers' more productive forwards over the last five seasons has landed with a new team.

Saturday afternoon, the Boston Bruins signed veteran winger James van Riemsdyk to a one-year contract.

According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, van Riemsdyk's one-year deal carries a cap hit of $1 million.

Van Riemsdyk has spent eight total seasons with the Flyers, logging 146 goals and 297 points over 527 games.

The Flyers selected van Riemsdyk with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. After spending the first three seasons of his NHL career with the Flyers, van Riemsdyk was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012 in exchange for defenseman Luke Schenn.

Van Riemsdyk rejoined the Flyers in 2018 after signing a five-year, $35 million contract as an unrestricted free agent.

The Flyers nearly traded van Riemsdyk, who led the team in goals during the 2021-22 season, to the Detroit Red Wings at last season's trade deadline. However, the trade fell through with minutes to spare ahead of the deadline.

Van Riemsdyk joins a star-studded Bruins club that finished the 2022-23 season as the greatest regular-season team in NHL history, finishing the campaign with 135 points.
