Former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo is a free agent again.
SKA St. Petersburg has announced DeAngelo's contract will be mutually terminated. In addition, they noted that DeAngelo is leaving the club so he can return to North America for family reasons.
DeAngelo, 29, was having a strong season with the KHL squad, posting six goals, 32 points, and a plus-15 rating in 34 games. He was also named to the KHL All-Star Game because of his excellent offensive play.

However, DeAngelo's mutual contract termination with SKA comes after he was benched during the third period of the club's Saturday contest against Dynamo Moscow.
It will now be fascinating to see where DeAngelo ends up landing from here. In 70 games as a Flyer during the 2022-23 season, he had 11 goals, 42 points, and a minus-27 rating.
