Ahead of their matchup in New Jersey to take on the Devils, the Flyers carry a lot of uncertainties with them on this trip — mainly in the goaltending department.

Carter Hart was the scheduled starter for tonight's contest in Newark, New Jersey. However, he remains out with an illness. The Flyers have called up Cal Petersen from the minors for emergency purposes.

Carter Hart has been battling illness all season long, more than your typical cold. He had missed two games in a row prior to tonight, resulting in Samuel Ersson starting in four consecutive games.

Multiple sources reported this morning that the Flyers were calling up Rhett Gardner. The 27-year-old centerman would slot in as the 13th forward and be used on an emergency basis if Sean Couturier or any Flyers player is incapable of playing tonight.
