Another game, another healthy scratch for a player who should represent the future of the Philadelphia Flyers. But instead, appears to be stuck in head coach John Tortorella's doghouse for reasons unknown.
Morgan Frost, who was the 27th-overall pick in 2017, scored 19 goals and 46 points last year in what was his first full season. Those are decent numbers, the kind that you'd expect him to build upon in what represents a rebuilding year for the Flyers.
And yet, 13 games into this season, Frost has spent more time up in the press box than he has on the ice.
After playing in the first two games of the season, Frost missed the next six. Since then, he's been in-and-out of the lineup. While Frost hasn't done anything to warrant an extended look — the centre has no goals and no assists in six games — he's not exactly playing for a Stanley Cup contender.

Yes, the return of Sean Couturier has caused more competition down the middle. And it's not like Frost is the only young player on the roster. Still, for a team that is trying to develop its players for a year or two down the road, it's curious how little Frost has played.
Maybe that will change following Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. But if it doesn't, look to Frost as a player who could benefit from a change of scenery.
