Center Ryan Poehling is set to play his 200th NHL game tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
This milestone marks a nice full circle moment for Poehling, who made his memorable NHL debut for the Montreal Canadiens during the 2018-19 season, scoring a hat trick against the Maple Leafs.
Poehling has spent time with the Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins before joining the Flyers in 2023. Despite having a fair amount of experience at the top level when he made the move to Philadelphia, the Flyers were the first team he played for that has given him a real chance to shine.
Since donning the orange and black, Poehling has set career highs in almost every category this season. He's doing better than he's ever done in terms of assists (13), points (21), shorthanded goals (3), shorthanded points (4), and is close to passing his career-high total of nine goals (he currently has eight).
Poehling has also been enjoying incredible chemistry on a line with Noah Cates and Garnet Hathaway, earning praise from head coach John Tortorella as "[the Flyers'] most consistent line."
