    Team USA closed out it's tournament play with a 10-2 win over Slovakia. It was a high event game with 84 shots on net from both teams combined. USA has finished the tournament undefeated.

    Gavin Brindley, Issac Howard and Rutger McGroarty all had multi-goal games. McGroarty had a had trick while Brindley and Howard picked up two goals each.

    Trey Augustine stopped 38 of 40 shots, finishing the game with a .950 save percentage (SV%). In his two games played Augustine finished with two wins, a 1.50 goals against average (GAA) and a .952 SV%.

    Brindley and Cutter Gauthier finish the tournament round with eight points each. Brindley scored six goals with two assists in four games, and Gauthier gathered one goal and seven assists.

    What Happens Next

    With all of the games officially over, the World Junior Championship moves into the quarterfinals. There will be four quarterfinal games and one relegation game. The quarterfinals will be across both Group A & B, with the top four teams from each group taking part.

    The four quarterfinal games will be Slovakia vs Finland, Canada vs Czechia, Sweden vs Switzerland and USA vs Latvia.

    The relegation game will take place between Germany and Norway - the last place teams in each Group. The winner will participate in the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. The loser will not participate in next year's version of the event.

    The quarterfinal games will take place January 2, 2024. Game time for the USA matchup will be 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.
