Four down, one to go.
After signing forward Noah Cates and defensemen Cam York and Ronnie Attard to short-term bridge deals, the Philadelphia Flyers have officially inked the fourth of their five notable restricted free agents.
Forward Olle Lycksell signed a two-year, two-way contract worth $1.575 million ($787,500 AAV), the Flyers announced Thursday afternoon.
With Lycksell under contract, forward Morgan Frost becomes the Flyers' only RFA who has yet to agree to a new contract.
Lycksell, who turns 24 in August, was selected in the sixth round (No. 168 overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. To date, he has logged one point — an assist — in his eight appearances in NHL games.
The 5-foot-10, 163-pound Swede spent the majority of the 2022-23 season in Lehigh Valley, where he posted 14 goals and 45 points in 53 games. He led the Phantoms with 31 assists on the campaign and ranked second on the team behind only Tyson Foerster in points. He also logged four points (two goals, two assists) in three postseason games.
Before coming to North America, Lycksell raised eyebrows in the Swedish Hockey League, where he registered 14 goals and 34 points in 47 games with Växjö Lakers HC.
Lycksell is not expected to make the Flyers out of training camp, but he will likely earn some time in the NHL if injuries become a factor.
