Sidney Crosby Named Top Player in NHL
Even entering year 19, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain is still one of the best players around.
The NHL Network has been celebrating the start of a new season by counting down the top players in the league and the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins continues to be among the best.
In their top 50 Players Right Now list, the Penguins captain came in as the ninth best player in the NHL.
Despite turning 36 this past summer, the expectations are still sky high for Crosby and more often than not, he’s someone you can bet one.
Playing all 82 games during the 2022-23 season, Crosby finished with a team-leading 93 points.
Crosby may have once again been the leader, but the Penguins missed the postseason for just the second time in his career.
No matter what happens this season with the Penguins, there is no doubt that Crosby will be hungry to get back into the playoffs.
Crosby is one of two Penguins to appear on this top 50 list after new face Erik Karlsson landed at 24.
