First period

- It's only been five minutes, but I like the start for the Penguins. They're getting into the offensive zone with relative ease and are getting some solid zone time. They still need to get some more high-danger chances, but this has been a solid start.

- Anthony Mantha just had his best shift of the series. Had a good chance in the offensive zone, but Vladar had the answer. Still no score seven minutes into the first period.

- Mantha took another penalty directly after that scoring chance, but the penalty kill was able to bail him out.

- GOAL: Sidney Crosby has scored his first goal of the series, making it 1-0 Penguins at 14:24 of the first period. He took a feed from Erik Karlsson and ripped it. That's a power play goal for the Penguins.

- END OF FIRST PERIOD: Penguins are up 1-0 at the first intermission, thanks to a power play goal from Crosby. This was the best period of the series for the Penguins, outside of the two penalties they took.

Second period

- GOAL: Dan Vladar loses the puck behind the net, and Rickard Rakell makes him pay. It's 2-0 Penguins early in the second period. This is their first multi-goal lead of the series.

- The penalty kill continues to be stellar. That unit has killed off three straight Flyers power plays, but it would behoove the Penguins to stop taking dumb penalties.

The Penguins' power play has been...not good since Crosby's goal. They're forcing too many plays and turning the puck over too often. Arturs Silovs has made some insane saves.

GOAL: The Flyers make it 2-1 right after the Penguins' power play expired. Trevor Zegras with a nice feed to Denver Barkey at 15:40 of the second period.

END OF SECOND PERIOD: The Penguins are up 2-1 heading into the second intermission and have 20 minutes to save their season. The fourth line had a really nice shift to end the middle frame, leading to a decent scoring chance from Ryan Shea. The Penguins will need more of that in the final frame if they want to extend their season.

Third period

- GOAL: Kris Letang gets a HUGE insurance goal for the Penguins, making it 3-1 at 4:27 of the third period. It was the Penguins' first 4v4 goal of the season and came after Garnet Hathaway and Erik Karlsson both got sent to the penalty box.

GOAL: Travis Konecny gets it right back for the Flyers, making it a 3-2 game at 7:03 of the third period. He ripped the puck from the right circle, and Silovs had no chance on it.

- Egor Chinakhov just had a great chance to make it a 4-2 game with a little over six minutes left in the third period, but rifled the puck wide. He's been fantastic for the Penguins this season, but can't hit the net in this series.

- GOAL: Connor Dewar makes it 4-2 with 56.2 seconds left in the third, and there will officially be a Game 5 back in Pittsburgh on Monday. The Penguins did a great job on the 6-on-5 before Dewar had a great individual effort to ice the game.

- I can't say enough about the way Arturs Silovs played in this game. He hadn't played all series and made some HUGE saves down the stretch to preserve the lead. Give him the Game 5 start.
